The Orthodox Church is, simply, the Church Jesus Christ founded. The gates of hell haven’t prevailed against it for 2,000 years. Today, the Orthodox Church has various names, depending on where it is located (Greek Orthodox, Ukrainian Orthodox, Antiochian Orthodox, Russian Orthodox, Kenyan Orthodox, etc.), but it is all the same Church. The Montrose Mission is part of the Orthodox Church in America.
“Simon Peter answered and said, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.’ Jesus replied, ‘Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.'”
Matthew 16:16-18
Our mission in Montrose is to establish the Church here. Will you consider joining us? You are welcome to worship God with us on Saturday nights and Sunday mornings; we currently meet in homes here in Montrose. (Please contact us for this week’s location.) But, as Our Lord Jesus Christ prayed, we, too, pray that His followers would be one. If you belong to a church now, will you consider asking us to come speak to your pastor and congregation about joining the Orthodox Church?
“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one.”
John 17:20-22
